Crown Chakra

What happens when we go beyond the physical body and manifestation? When we expose ourselves to abstraction and freedom from thoughts that may bog us down in the mud? To pray, meditate. To focus on the space beyond fabricated thoughts opens doors to expansiveness. Working with resins opens doors to the possibility to give ourselves, in the words of Jimi Hendrix, “to a rainbow like you.”

Resins embody the physical turned to consciousness. By wounding a resin-bearing tree, what is inside is exposed, hardens and may be transmuted. Our ancestors, across cultures and time, realized how woundedness, if worked with respectfully (gently!), may liberate. Though once we’re liberated, we are still yoked to this Earth and must continue to “do the work,” to exist, eat, sleep, clean, cook. Ah…the ebb and flow…
